Neck Anatomy and Technique
with Dan Wood

In this class we will explore the neck, common conditions that affect this area, and what we can do to address these conditions.  The course begins with a review of neck anatomy.  Next, we will have a discussion on the techniques and the conditions that are best paired with each technique. Participants will learn to use myofascial release, body mobilization, deep frictioning, pin and stretch, and stretching to address neck dysfunction.  These techniques will be applied with intensity appropriate for each participant.  Although the techniques you will learn can be used with a great deal of pressure, this should not be confused with a deep tissue class.  Our goal is to coax the neck into cooperation, not beat it into submission.  Emotional concerns involved in neck massage will also be covered.
